Review plans

I've decided not to continue the episode by episode reviews of Fringe, mainly due to lack of time. A pity, because the first episode of Season 2 features no less a figure than the Duchess of Sussex herself, that is Meghan Markle, as an FBI agent.

What I will do instead is take a similar approach that I am taking with Buffy, of reviewing one episode a season and I've already selected the one I'm going for based on the description I found...

Once the current Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season is done, I intend to finish off The Animated Series and move onto The Next Generation. The plan is to watch the three 24th-century Trek shows (The  Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager) in US broadcast order, to fully appreciate any links between them. I am also intending to watch and review "The Cage" for the 60th anniversary itself.

I've forgotten to do a post on Andy Burnham - I'll try to do that this week.

2023 Plans

I know this blog has been a bit quiet lately - I assume someone still reads it. Hopefully, I will get this a bit more active in 2023. For one thing, I hope to get round to watching original Star Trek at some point, but I've still got too much modern TV to watch including Strange New Worlds.

There's a number of Marvel movies out - and the new Indiana Jones - so I might well review them.

We shall see though. Make sure you follow me on your RSS feeder of choice.

Upcoming posts

I plan to see No Time To Die next week and then I am taking an overseas trip for the first time in two years. Expect posts on both to follow.

Welcome to 2021

Well, that was one horror show of a year. No firm plans for 2021, but when we can start freely travelling again, I may well be doing some bits on train types I haven't been on before.

Also, expect a Doctor Who review at some point this week. Might as well...

I just want this pandemic to end... I think everyone does.

Stay safe; don't become a victim before your vaccine.

Blog plans for 2020

  1. Finish the current timetable article I'm working on. This might take a while due to other things getting in the way.
  2. Probably do another one - I'm thinking BR Southern Region's summer 1970 timetable.
  3. Possibly post some photos.

Update on things

Just to let everyone know that I'm still alive. The next timetable post is being worked on, but it might be a while before it is actually done.

I've arguably spent too long banging my head against the proverbial wall in debates with Corbynites on Reddit and Twitter...

Plans for 2019

To be honest, I've not really got any firm ones. I intend to carry on with the timetable posts, but those will be done as and when I find the time/inclination to do them.

I may well do some other posts; I've really gotten into Rimworld lately...

Plans for 2018

Not a huge number this year, for various reasons. However, one thing I plan to do is a few posts examining a railway timetable I own for January 1958, comparing how things have improved. Or not as the case may be.

Plus a few reviews of things, including hopefully resuming my Star Trek: The Original Series posts once Discovery has finished airing.

Star Trek Discovery plans

Instead of a series of reviews, I'm going to do a single post with a paragraph or two on each episode. The critics seem to like it and hopefully I will to.

If not, there is always the delete button...

Berlin post

The second post in my Berlin trilogy has been completed and will appear next Sunday. I will then do a post covering some of the other places that I visited in this city, which hopefully will not take too much longer. I certainly intend to have it up by the anniversary of me actually going there.

01 February 2017

Delay in next Berlin post

Due to some other things that I am doing, namely working on my novel and also another article for publication in a magazine, the two remaining Berlin posts are on hold for the time being.

I will get them done, but it may take a while.

01 January 2017

2017 plans

OK, first thing on the list is going to be the second and third parts of my Berlin feature. I am planning another long distance train trip, so that may well feature.

Otherwise, going to be keeping things fairly 'light and easy', with lots of shorter posts, including some mini reviews.

15 August 2016

An update

I've not disappeared - just had a lot on lately. I'm currently working slowly on a review of the Caledonian Sleeper train; this will appear hopefully by the end of the month.

19 April 2016

Stopping reviews

I've decided that, with some exceptions, namely the Star Trek reviews and some films, that I won't be doing any further reviews here. They're very time consuming and it actually diminishes my enjoyment of a show having to think about doing a review for it.

Also, the news about Castle has put me off the idea of doing a planned review for that and I don't plan to watch any Season 9.

2016 plans

Things are going to be somewhat less active in 2016, as I will be working on getting my novel finished and published, as well as other RL things. I will finish the current major history post on neutral nations of the Second World War, but I do not plan for any other of these on the blogs.

There will be fewer individual reviews; while I hope to do all the Doctor Who episodes, another Castle and another The Librarians among others, as well as some films, I will instead be doing a monthly feature called 'Telly I Watched', where I will be provide a brief opinion of the key series that I watched that month, say a paragraph each.

The US Presidential Election will get some coverage, as will elections in the UK, including the EU referendum if that happens this year.

Star Citizen will get a number of articles as will some other games.

As usual, all plans are subject to change without notice.

I wish you all a prosperous and healthy 2016.

16 November 2015

Blog activity

Things are likely to be somewhat reduced for a while; for various reasons, I've had to cut back on my computer activities.

Some things, including my Homeland season 5 review, will be much later and probably much shorter than planned.

02 September 2015

Lack of reviews etc

If you're wondering why there aren't any further reviews of anything recently, I've been highly busy with other shows and other things. I hope to get back to this stuff soon, but it probably won't be until at least the end of the month.

22 July 2015

Review update - again

A large amount of TV has come up for me all at one go, which is going to have to push the Star Trek and Fringe stuff to the backburner; the former will be prioritised if I get to it.

Also, the Spectre review (the trailer today looks great) is going to be a Phoenix Roleplaying newsletter exclusive, although I will post the link here.

In other news, I'm working on the Second World War neutrals post; but this is likely to be done later in the year than initially planned.

The novel is going well; over halfway through.

29 June 2015

'Fringe' and 'Star Trek' reviews

Going forward, I'm aiming to do the former on a fortnightly basis and the latter hopefully weekly. This plan may end up slipping.

02 May 2015

Second World War post delayed

Due to lack of time on my part with the General Election, I'm planning to put my post on the neutral nations of the Second World War back to the summer; closer to the anniversary of VJ Day. I intend to make this a more global affair covering the major neutrals around the world.
