Eurovision 2026

Not planning to watch this tonight. Not for any reason related to Israel's participation (which has arguments for and against it) but because it's just not really my cup of tea. Especially because it goes on so long and finishes far too late. I have things to do in the morning.

Apparently we're 19th highest in the odds market with Look Mum, No Computer deciding for some reason to have a German song title...

I doubt we'll do well at all - especially as we're liable to do awfully on the televote - we got nil points on that last time.

Eurovision 2015

I chose not to watch it this year; I just wasn't bothered. I see that we came nowhere near winning and only got four points.

I don't think it's something I'd want the UK to win at any time soon. If we did, we'd have to host it and with the BBC likely to enter some seriously dire financial straits in the next few years after the Royal Charter review, it's an expense it can ill-afford.

Eurovision 2012

If we want to win Eurovision, we're clearly not going the right way about it.

All in all, this was a pretty dire contest - not only did it over-run by ten minutes, most of the songs were pretty forgettable. Mind you, Graham Norton has firmly established himself as a successor to Sir Terry Wogan.
